The Barr Foundation – Story Collection Survey

As part of a project to develop more accessible language around climate resilience, we asked Boston Area residents to tell us about their experience of climate change and what their community is doing to protect and prepare against the impacts of the climate crisis. The story survey collected 95 responses, 92 in English, 2 in Chinese, and 1 in Spanish, from May to August 2023.

The responses highlighted three pivotal challenges: financial strain, health concerns, and housing instability. These themes manifested in how respondents discussed how they think about the climate crisis and the imminent threat due to the climate crisis.
